My Dad

Dad, where do I start, we have made so many memories together over the years but one thing that always brought us closer together was our love for all sports. My earliest memory is going to watch you play Sunday league football, the few bits I remember was you two-footing the opposition striker and as a result a 20 man brawl erupting, the smell of deep heat and steam from the tiny changing rooms at Whitley wood recreation ground, followed by a  post-match trip to the rendezvous pub next to elm park and of course to finish the day off we would be sat on the sofa at home watching Football Italia together. My perfect Sunday, I'm sure Mum would agree.

I will always be grateful for the support you gave me from the sidelines when I took up numerous different sports. You made sure I had the latest gear, arrived on time each week and you even managed to take the warm-ups even if they didn't always go to plan (broken arm and a trip to RBH).  You could never be beaten for passion on the touchline, I am grateful that you cared so much and shouted words of encouragement to me even if it was every 5 minutes for the entire game. I never told you this but having you at my games would always make me play better.

I can't not mention sport and not say anything about our love of Tottenham Hotspur. I say love, but I don't think you knew how much banter I got at school for being a Spurs fan, especially in the days of having Kasey "butter fingers" Keller in goal, Anthony "no hope" Gardener at center half and Sergiy "couldn't hit a barn door" Rebrov upfront. Jokes aside, I am thankful deep down you supported Tottenham and passed that down to me, I am lucky to have a dad that shares the same passion for the club as me, thank you for taking me to games and making sure I had the latest kit, I only know now what a trek it is to get to Tottenhams Stadium.

I could go on and on here but I won't, I am so thankful to have made lots of memories with you and forever grateful for everything you have done for me. I am looking forward to sharing these memories with Rory when he is old enough.

All my love
Adam X
